PURPOSE: A system and a method for managing personal information are provided to support and manage web sites including registered personal information by updating the web sites with the registered personal information when personal information is changed. CONSTITUTION: A system(101) for managing a personal information comprises a first web server(111), second web servers(121,122), third web servers(131,132). The first web server(111) is connected to the second and third web servers(121,122,131,132) through the Internet. The first web server(111) stores personal information of an Internet user. The second web servers(121,122) store the same personal information for the Internet user stored on the first web server(111). The third web servers(131,132) do not store the personal information stored on the first web server(111). In case that an article of the personal information is changed, the Internet user changes a corresponding article of the personal information stored on the first web server(111). When the Internet user inputs own personal information to the first web server(111), the first web server(111) designates the second web servers(121,122) of the second and the third web servers(121,122,131,132). The first web server(111) transmits the changed personal information to the second web servers(121,122), and thus the second web servers(121,122) update, so that the existing registered personal information is identical to the changed personal information received from the first web server(111).
