摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a NOx clean-up rate during acceleration by using a lean NOx catalyst. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine comprises the lean NOx catalyst 3 provided in an exhaust pipe and reducer amount control means 13 for controlling the amount of a reducer to be supplied to the NOx catalyst 3 corresponding to at least one parameter of an exhaust gas temperature, an engine load and a rotating speed, so that the amount of the reducer in the exhaust gas is increased in a period from starting deceleration to starting acceleration in an engine operated condition and adsorbed in the NOx catalyst 3. After starting the acceleration, the adsorbed reducer is emitted and reacted with NOx, therefore improving a NOx clean-up rate during acceleration.
