PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for a thin-walled boot capable of positively and efficiently detecting a defect existing in the thin-walled boot such as a light shielding boot. SOLUTION: This inspection device for inspecting the presence of the defect existing in the light shielding boot 101 serving as the thin-walled boot provided with an expansion part 102 formed in bellows shape, has an illuminating light source 41 serving as a lighting means for irradiating the expansion part 102 with illuminating light; a light guide cable 42; a light guide member 43; prism blocks 44 and 45; a CCD camera 52 serving as an image pickup means for picking up the image of the side, not irradiated with the illuminating light, of the expansion part 101; and an image processor 51 serving as an image processing means for applying specified processing to picked-up image data to extract the defect existing in the expansion part, from the image data.
