REGENERATOR AND HEAT EXCHANGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerator and a heat exchanger having a high durability by appropriately relieving stress caused by thermal expansion of a heat receiving pipe. SOLUTION: A pleated part 140 for absorbing an elongation of a total length due to thermal expansion of the heat receiving pipe is provided on part of the heat receiving pipe which is located in an interior side of an inner drum. A resistance plate 190 for increasing exhausting resistance is installed in the vicinity of an upstream side or a downstream side of the pleated part 140. By this constitution, combustion exhaust gas does not pass through a part having the pleated part 140 and almost all of the gas passes through the part having a fin 181 so that good heat receiving capacity is obtained.
