PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing route guidance to a user when a vehicle is out of a route, in a navigation system. SOLUTION: This method is performed by a navigation system so as to provide guidance to a driver of a vehicle when the vehicle is out of a route to the destination supplied by the navigation system. Intersections at which the vehicle can arrive are recognized while a new solution route to the destination is calculated. A cost factor related to a route found from the recognized intersections is changed in relation to each recognized intersection so as to increase possibilities in which the new solution route includes a route having a minimum cost factor. |
