PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit capable of restricting abrasion of contact surfaces between a bearing and a rear cover for a long period. SOLUTION: A rear cover 3 is provided on an outer circumference of an axle 20 to be adjacent to an inner ring 4 of an axle 1 to compose this bearing unit. The rear cover 3 is parted into two rear cover parts 3A, 3B disposed in the axial direction. Lubricant containing recessed parts 16, 17 are provided in a contact surface of the rear cover part 3A on the adjacent side to the inner ring 4 with an inner ring width surface and an inner diametric surface of it. A lubricant containing recessed part 18 is provided in a contact surface of the other rear cover part 3B with the rear cover part 3A. Lubricant 19 is enclosed in the lubricant containing recessed parts 16-18. An abraded powder receiving part 12 is provided in a seal cover 12. An abraded powder receiving recessed part 25 is provided in an engagement part between both rear cover parts 3A, 3B.
