PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fraction collector which has no room for leaving the preceding fraction components in a passage when carrying out fraction trapping of a plurality of components in succession from the same sample. SOLUTION: The fraction collector is so arranged to have a stator 11 and a rotor 12 rotating while sliding thereover and uses a rotary valve 1 to open or close a liquid passage to an outlet (a) on the rotor 12 from an inlet (c) on the stator 11 through a hole 14 and a groove 15 arranged in the sliding surfaces thereof. A nozzle 3 installed in an outlet port is moved following the rotating action of the valve 1 and a column outflow liquid of a liquid chromatograph is timely distributed to a liquid ejection port 42 and a trapping container 2. The liquids flow out through the same nozzle 3 to eliminate room for leaving the liquids in the passage thereby posing no problem of contamination.
