PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an alarm when activity of a wearer stops, by a portable radiation alarm detecting radiation present in surrounding environment. SOLUTION: This portable radiation alarm is provided with a radiation sensor 1 detecting the radiation present in the surrounding environment and generating an electric output of a level corresponding to a level of the radiation, a radiation alarm output device 2 receiving the electric output of the radiation sensor 1 and generating a radiation alarm output; a vibration sensor 4 detecting movement of the wearer and generating an electric signal, standstill detection circuit 5 generating an output when the standstill detection circuit 5 does not accept the electric signal of the vibration sensor 4 over a prescribed time, standstill alarm output device 6 receiving the output of the standstill detection circuit 5 and generating a standstill alarm, output, and an alarm device 3 driven by the radiation alarm output of the radiation alarm output device 2 and the standstill alarm output of the standstill alarm output device 6. The portable radiation alarm generates the alarm when the radiation present in the surrounding environment is detected by the radiation sensor 1, or when it is detected through the vibration sensor 4 that the activity of the wearer stops.
