PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal jib type crane capable of preventing a cable suspended from a traverse trolley from being twisted. SOLUTION: A sling 17 is suspended through a suspended cable 12 from a trolley 8 moving along the jib 6 of a horizontal jib type crane 30. The suspended cable 12 is extended to a jib root part 6b through sheaves 20a and 20b at the tip part 6a of the jib, and returned again to the tip part 6a through one sheave 34b of a slide block 32, and then extended to a windup winch 24 from there. On the other hand, an adjusting cable 38 extended from the trolley 8 through sheaves 21a and 21b at the root part 6b is stretched on the other sheave 34a of the block 32. An adjusting cable 38 is fixed to the jib 6 side at the end part thereof and, when the trolley 8 is moved, the block 32 is moved in the direction opposite to the trolley 8 so as to adjust the length of the suspended cable 12.
