PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a spherical and high-purity titanium oxide fine particle having excellent dispersibility and utilizable as electronic materials, ultraviolet screening materials or photocatalysts, etc. for general purposes. SOLUTION: This method for producing the titanium oxide fine particle comprises reacting one mol of titanium tetrachloride gas with 1-30 mol of oxygen and 0.005-0.5 mol of one or more organic compounds and regulating the titanium tetrachloride gas concentration in a reactonal part to 1-20 mol% in a vapor-phase reaction of the titanium tetrachloride.
