PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of synthesizing a compound containing an oxetanyl group and a hydroxyl group in the molecule by one step, simply and in a high yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing the compound (C) containing an oxetanyl group and a hydroxyl group in the molecule comprises reacting the hydroxyl group or a mercapto group of an oxetane (A) containing a nonphenolic hydroxyl group and the mercapto group with an oxirane (B).
