PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide structure of mounting a rail to a staircase eliminating the problems of cracks in a step board and of construction by fixing a stay to a wooden staircase not only at a step board but also at a step board positioned upper than the former step board or a kick-up plate. SOLUTION: In the structure of mounting a rail to the staircase (a) wherein a stay 11 is erected on and fixed to the step board 1 of the stair case (a), and the rail 12 is fixed on the side of a face the stay 11, the middle part of the stay 11 and a step board 1a positioned upper than the step board 1 to which the stay 11 is fixed are connected to each other by a bracket 17.
