PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking device for a transmission which reduces machining man-hours and cost by simplifying the shape of a parking gear, and enables an actuator to be large-sized, without increasing the whole length of the transmission by providing the allowance of space between the parking gear and the inner peripheral part of the actuator. SOLUTION: This parking device for the transmission is provided with the actuator for moving a movable sheave of a variable width pulley comprising a fixed sheave and the movable sheave; the parking gear fitted in opposition to the actuator; and a parking arm engaged with the parking gear to lock its rotation. The parking arm is so constituted that the point of application in which an acting end part is engaged with an engaging part of the parking gear is shifted in a separating direction from the actuator, from the fulcrum of the arm and the force point of a force applying part for imparting driving force to the parking arm.
