PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse pipe refrigerating machine which simultaneously satisfies an optimum phase control and an optimum gas displacement and has a high cooling efficiency particularly in the pulse pipe refrigerating machine employing an inertance tube phase control system among the pulse pipe refrigerating machines. SOLUTION: The pulse pipe refrigerating machine comprises a cold storage device 2, a pulse pipe 3, a buffer tank 5, an inertance tube 4 connecting the buffer tank and the high temperature end of the pulse pipe and a compressor 1 producing a cyclic pressure waveform of a refrigerant gas. A second buffer tank 5 other than the buffer tank 5 is connected to the halfway of the inertance tube 4 by a second inertance tube 6 having a specified inner diameter and length and made of a different material.
