PURPOSE: A load compartment lift for a freight car is provided to conveniently and safely unload articles loaded in a load compartment by making the load compartment freely lift up and down. CONSTITUTION: A worm(22) rotating by a motor(21) is installed in a frame(11) coaxial with the motor. A worm wheel(23) is engaged with the worm to drive. The worm wheel is driven by the rotation of the worm. A threaded shaft(24) is protruded onto the worm wheel. A transfer gear(25) is engaged with the threaded shaft. A lift gear(26) is engaged with the transfer gear. A shaft bar(27) is integrally formed on the lift gear. The shaft bar is combined with a shift lever(28). At a lower portion of a load compartment(12) moving angularly by a lift hinge(14), a guide rail(13) is installed. Upon moving the lift lever, the load compartment moves angularly by centering on the lift hinge.
