PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid pressure type power steering device for a vehicle having a large freedom degree of setting of steering assisting force set in accordance with car speed. SOLUTION: This fluid pressure type power steering device for a vehicle is provided with a main control valve 29 of which valve opening is controlled based on relative movement of an input shaft interlocked with a steering wheel and an output shaft interlocked with a steering mechanism to steer the steering wheel, a power cylinder mechanism 21 to generate steering assisting force, a pump device 1 to discharge a constant flow of working fluid, a first flow passage including a supply passage 14 communicated with the main control valve 29, and a control unit 4 to control an assist control valve 32. The main control valve 29 controls supply quantity of the working fluid in the first flow passage to the power cylinder mechanism 21, and the assist control valve 32 to control flow of a part of the working fluid discharged from the pump device 1 is controlled by the control unit 4 to a set valve opening set based on car speed and hydraulic pressure of the working fluid in the first flow passage. |
