PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylbenzene hydroperoxide, capable of preventing lowering of heat exchange capability of a heat exchanger by suppressing deposition of an alkali salt such as sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide contained in an alkylbenzene such as cumene in the heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This method for producing an alkylbenzene hydroperoxide of the present invention by oxidizing an alkylbenzene with a molecular oxygen- containing gas is characterized by feeding water to an alkylbenzene feeding pipe provided for feeding an alkylbenzene containing an alkali salt from an alkylbenzene tank to a heat exchanger together with the alkylbenzene when feeding the alkylbenzene containing the alkali salt to the alkylbenzene tank and the heat exchanger without washing the alkylbenzene with water or after washing the alkylbenzene with water, preheating the alkylbenzene in the heat exchanger and then feeding the alkylbenzene to an oxidation step.
