PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary agent for an oncotherapy and a device for the oncotherapy having effects killing a tumor cell by a radiation of a visible light even at a long wavelength without influencing adverse effects on human body and useful for the oncotherapy using a photocatalyst. SOLUTION: This auxiliary agent for the oncotherapy is a photocatalyst such as titanium dioxide having visible light activity and is used for making the tumor die out by being laid at the vicinity to the tumor and being irradiated with a light containing the visible light. The device useful for the ontotherapy, etc., is equipped with an optical fiber supporting the photocatalyst at the one end surface and a light source arranged at the other end of the optical fiber and the photocatalyst is the photocatalyst having visible light activity.
