PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas oil composition capable of extremely reducing an exhaust amount of environmental pollution substances when using for a high performanced and electronic controlled diesel engine, and exhibiting an excellent lubricating property, fuel efficiency and engine output. SOLUTION: This gas oil composition is characterized in that the sulfur content is <=0.005 mass %, distillation properties satisfy a relation of formula (1) 1,170<=T50+T70+T90+T95 (1) [T50, T70, T90 and T95 are 50 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C), 70 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C), 90 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C) and 95 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C), respectively] and a density, a wholly aromatic component content and the 50 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C) satisfy a relation of formula (2) D-(0.001648×TA+0.000398×T50)}<0.690 (2) [D is a density (g/cm3) at 15 deg.C, TA is a wholly aromatic component content (vol.%) and T50 is the 50 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C)].
