The user interface includes a revolving position sensor (DR, DW) which is arranged in the casing of, especially a mobile communication instrument (MF). The position sensor operates with an evaluation stage (RL) in the interior of the instrument for evaluating the position and/or the rotation of the position sensor. The position sensor comprises preferably optically readable marks (M) which are evaluated through a window (OF) in the casing of an optic evaluation stage.
