NEW SUBSTANCE ISOLATED FROM ECKLONIA CAVA, METHOD FOR EXTRACTING AND PURIFYING THE NEW SUBSTANCE AND METHOD FOR USING THE NEW SUBSTANCE AS ANTIOXIDANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a new substance having high anti-oxidizing activity, excellent thermostability, usefully applicable for a natural antioxidant from Ecklonia cava, to provide both a method for extracting and purifying the new substance and a method for using the new substance as an antioxidant. SOLUTION: Ground Ecklonia cava is extracted with an organic solvent once or twice, the extracted substance is fractioned with a solvent once or twice and the obtained solvent fraction is purified by a chromatography method.
