PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of extracting feature points from a genom profiling image as intermediate processing method for making possible the identification of the species of microorganisms based on genotype by a quantitative technique accurately and simply. SOLUTION: It is so arranged to contain an intake process in which a gene of a living being is amplified and a gel electrophoretic product obtained by the electrophoresis of the amplified DNA is taken in as genom profiling image, a standardization process to standardize the genom profiling image taken in separately in terms of temperature and the degree of migration, a thickened segment extraction process to extract a plurality of thickened segments corresponding to respective bands of the standardized genom profiling images and a feature point extraction process to extract a plurality of feature points for each of the plurality of thickened segments thus extracted.
