PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating in which hinokitiol and/or its metal complex in a sufficient amount to realize antibacterial, antifungal and insect- repelling properties is stably compounded by an inexpensive method without detriment to inherent characteristics of the water-based coating and also without deteriorating water resistance of a coated film. SOLUTION: The water-based coating includes an emulsion of hinokitiol and/or its metal complex.
