PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shock absorbing member from leaving it incompletely collapsed and to reliably improve an energy absorbing capability. SOLUTION: A rectangular frame-shaped box base 26 is fixed to the rear end section 12C of a crush box 12, and the rear end section 12C of the crush box 12 penetrates the box base 26 by the prescribed length L. The end face 12D of the crush box 12 abuts on an end face support section 20D on the outer periphery of the bottom wall section 20C of an arm bracket 20 or is arranged at a slight gap with it. When a load is applied to the crush box 12 nearly from the front of a vehicle body, the arm bracket 20 receives the load from the crush box 12 at the end face support section 20D and transmits it in the order of an outer peripheral wall section 20B, a flange 20A, and a front side member 10.
