The brake light flashing source uses an electronic component inserted between the brake switch and the brake lamps, which responds to closure of the brake switch for short-term operation of each of the brake lamps, or only the auxiliary central brake lamp, a given number of times, before switching over to a continuous brake light indication when the brake switch remains closed.
