PURPOSE: A WLL(Wireless Local Loop) terminal capable of being connected with multiple handsets by wireless and a method for operating the same are provided to connect many wireless handsets to one WLL terminal so that a user can use the WLL terminal without the necessity of purchasing an additional wired/wireless telephone. CONSTITUTION: A WLL terminal capable of being connected with multiple handsets consists of a plurality of wireless handsets(100) and a WLL terminal main unit(200). Each wireless handset(100), comprised of a microphone(110), a keypad(120), the first duplexer(130), the first receiver(140), a speaker(150), the first control part(160), and the first transmitter(170). Each wireless handset(100), transmitting its own intrinsic ID data to the WLL terminal main unit(200) according to a user's hooking operation and receiving an enable control signal from the main unit(200), transfers to a call mode and executes a call function. The WLL terminal main unit(200), connected with a base station(1) through a cable and connected with the wireless handsets(100) by wireless, is composed of an MSM(Mobile Station Manager)(210), a wireless handset interface part(220), and a power supply part(230). The MSM(210), in the case of executing a terminating operation, receives a ring signal and voice data from the base station(1) and outputs them to the second control part(221) in the wireless handset interface part(220). In executing an originating operation, the MSM(210) receives voice data from the second control part(221) and transmits the data to the base station(1). The wireless handset interface part(220), connected to the MSM(210) through a tip line and a ring line, contains the second control part(221), the second transceiver(222), the second receiver(223), and the second duplexer(224). If the ring signal and the voice data are received from the MSM(210), the wireless handset interface part(220) transmits the ring signal to the wireless handsets(100) preferentially, and then deciphers and recognizes the intrinsic ID data transmitted from a selected, arbitrary wireless handset(100). At the same time, the wireless handset interface part(220) receives the voice data transmitted from the arbitrary wireless handset(100) and outputs the data to the MSM(210).
