PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement pump capable of providing the steering without delay in response by quickly ensuring the sufficient capacity of the pump in steering, and saving the consumptive motive power by minimizing the capacity of the pump in non-steering. SOLUTION: A pump room 18 is formed between a pump body 11 and a rotor 15 in the pump body 11, and first and second fluid pressure chambers 33 and 34 are formed at both sides in the moving direction of a cam ring 17 movable in the direction to increase and decrease the capacity of the pump of the pump room. A control valve 30 having a spool operated in the axial direction by the fluid pressure difference between upstream and downstream sides of a metering restriction 50 mounted on the way of a delivery side passage 27 of the pump room, is mounted for controlling the fluid pressure in at least the first fluid pressure chamber. An electronic driving means such as a solenoid 60 is mounted on the spool of the control valve to provide the axial thrust. |
