PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for a vehicle allowing its present position to be easily recognized and capable of accurately displaying the present position. SOLUTION: This navigation device for a vehicle detects the present position of a vehicle and displays the present position of the vehicle on a map according to the detected position. This device is equipped with an information storage means stored with map information including at least information on road widths, a present position detecting means for detecting the present position of the vehicle, a means for determining the road being traveled based on the present position detected by the detecting means, a display means for displaying a map and the present position of the vehicle, and a display control means for reading the map information stored in the storage means and causing the display means to display it together with the present position of the vehicle. The control means causes the displayed map to express the widths of roads based on the road width information stored in the storage means and controls the displayed position of the vehicle on the road being traveled on the map expressing the widths. |
