PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device for an upper cover made performable of smoothly and properly opening/closing the upper cover of a closed vessel. SOLUTION: A screw shaft 5 and a guide shaft 1 are provided in a vertical state along an outer wall surface of a vessel main unit 2. A turn arm 8 connecting its tip end to a location of an upper cover 3 is up/down movably provided in the guide shaft 7, a bracket 10 lifting the turn arm 8, while supporting it, is provided between the guide shaft 7 and the screw shaft 5. A prime moving wheel 11 formed by a gear and a stopper 12 limiting upward movement thereof are provided in the screw shaft 5, a driven wheel 9 fixed to the turn arm and the prime moving wheel 11 are meshed and connected capable of rotating with each other. When the screw shaft 5 is in rotation, the bracket 10 up/down moves the turn arm 8 while supporting it simultaneously with lifting the upper cover 3. Particularly the prime moving wheel 11, when it is lifted to a position of the stopper 12, rotates the driven wheel 9, in this way, the turn arm 8 and the upper cover 3 are turned in a horizontal direction with the guide shaft 7 serving as the center.
