PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic cylinder unit to be small in size, prevented from leakage of oil and mixture of moisture and dust in an oil tank, and decreased in entrainment of air in oil. SOLUTION: The hydraulic cylinder unit comprises a hydraulic cylinder 3, an oil tank 8 situated at the outer peripheral part of the hydraulic cylinder 3; a hydraulic pump 2 incorporated in a head block 7, a motor 1 coupled directly to the head block 7; and a control valve 20 fixed at the external part of the head block 7. The head block 7 also serves for the casing part of the hydraulic pump 2.
