PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of a modified polybutadiene as a rubber component having low rolling resistance and excellent wet skid resistance which is especially effective as a rubber material for automobile tires. SOLUTION: The preparation method of a modified polybutadiene comprises modifying a polybutadiene obtained by polymerizing 1,3-butadiene in the presence of a nickel-based catalyst composition comprising a nickel compound, an organic aluminum compound and a fluorine compound with an organoalkoxysilane or an organoaroxysilane.
