PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treating method of a polyester which conducts water treatment with good efficiency to reduce staining of a treating vessel and piping upon the water treatment. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a polyester by continuously feeding polyester chips to a treating vessel and feeding treating water to the treating vessel to effect the water treatment of the polyester chips comprises providing at least two treating water feed openings at different positions in height in the treating vessel to feed the treating water to the treating vessel.
