PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door braking apparatus at a low cost, which can easily and stably carry out braking of a door, in order to prevent sudden closing and opening of doors such as a sliding door and a revolving door. SOLUTION: A braking apparatus main body 7 is installed on a sliding door 1, and a revolving plate 10 revolving together with a vertical shaft 12 in one body is arranged in the braking apparatus main body 7. The revolving plate 10 is retained by a pair of braking bodies 15a, 15b which are movable in separating and approaching directions, and an internal surface of the braking apparatus main body 7 with a fine gap therebetween, and viscous fluid 11 is filled in the braking apparatus main body 7 in a manner surrounding the periphery of the revolving plate 10. Then, to the shaft 12 protruding from the braking apparatus main body 7 is attached a frictional roller 13 rotating about a vertical shaft center of the shaft 12 together with the revolving plate 10. Further, a contact member 14 is installed on the side of a building such that the frictional roller 13 abuts thereon at least one of a location near which the sliding door 1 is almost closed, and a location near which the sliding door is almost opened.
