PURPOSE: A side cutter is provided to remove burr generated from the upper surface of a work piece by arranging positive cutting edge angles and negative cutting edge angles alternately. CONSTITUTION: A cutting blade(5) consists of 8 processing blades(7) and 8 burr removing blades(9) arranged alternately along the outer circumference of a cutter disk(1). The 8 processing blades have a positive cutting edge angle(+alpha) to hang a processing rod to the surface of a work piece. The plural processing blades are arranged with regular distances along the outer circumference of the cutter disk. The burr removing blades have a negative cutting edge angle(-alpha) to remove burr generated from the surface of the work piece. The burr removing blades are arranged one by one among the processing blades. One of processing blades and one of the burr removing blades, following the processing blade have each cutting edge forming clearance angles in the same diagonal direction. One of the processing blades and the next processing blade have clearance angles in opposite to the former processing blade and the burr removing blade. When the side cutter is contacted with the surface of the work piece, the processing blades having the positive cutting edge angle perform grooving work. The burr removing blades having the negative cutting edge angle remove burr. Each edge at both sides of the cutting edge of the burr removing blade is cut diagonally to be useful as a path(15) for removing a chip generated by the processing blades. The chip is removed from the work piece by the burr removing blades, and burr at the grooved portion is removed by the burr removing blades. Therefore, the work piece having the clear surface is obtained.
