PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern plating method for a glass substrate surface which is capable of improving the adhesion property of a metallic film and the glass substrate and is capable of forming the desired patterns by the simple method in forming desired patterns by plating treatment on the glass substrate surface. SOLUTION: This method for pattern plating of the glass substrate surface consists in surface treating the surface of the glass substrate 1 with a silane coupling agent 2 having at least one functional groups selected from a mercapto group, amino group, cyano group, amide group and ureide group, masking the surface to a desired shape with a masking material 4, irradiating the surface with UV rays 5 to adhere metallic particulates 3 thereto, fixing the metallic particulate 3 only to the segments not irradiated with the UV rays and subjecting the surface to electroless plating treatment.
