PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the deformation of front side members and increase an energy absorption quantity. SOLUTION: Side members 1 are arranged along the longitudinal direction on the right and left of the front section of a vehicle body and molded with a light metal material as skeleton members. Each side member 1 comprises a front end member 3 formed with an extruded material as an energy absorption section, a central member 5 connected to the rear end of the front end member 3 via a joint member 9 and formed with the extruded material, and a rear end member 7 pinch-connected to the rear end of the central member 5 with a lap margin, connected to cabin partition members 25, 29, 35 at the rear end, and formed with a cast material into a closed cross section. The strength of the front end member 3 is set lower than the strength of the rear end member 7, and the rear end member 3 is provided with a bend acceleration section 39 having asymmetric strength distribution in the direction of the closed cross section to accelerate a bending deformation by the load input from the front end member 3 side to the rear of the vehicle body.
