PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a crosslinked polymer particle having high mechanical strength and causing no elution of impure substances. SOLUTION: The crosslinked polymer particle is obtained by polymerizing a crosslinkable vinyl monomer and has an average particle size in a dry state of 1-10 mm and a specific surface area per its dry weight of 1-600 m2/g.
