Pneumatic strut with transverse force compensation has pneumatic spring axis coinciding with axis of vibration damper

The strut consists of a pneumatic spring (1) in the form of a rolling bellows with rolling piston and a vibration damper (3) fitted between the vehicle structure and one of the wheels. Both act on a body at an angle to the axis of the damper to create a transverse force. The axis of the pneumatic spring coincides with the axis (13) of the vibration damper.
