The printing machine has a central unit with a memory, data input and output devices and an electronic machine control using a data processing program for controlling at least one printing machine element. The memory holds data used for provision of optical and/or acoustic guidance information, associated with at least one machine element, machine function and/or function or setting fault, activated via the central unit. An Independent claim for a control method for a printing machine is also included.
