PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the excellent traveling stability with the traveling feeling suitable for a bicycle, and to prevent the early run-out of a battery. SOLUTION: This power-assisted bicycle is provided with a control means 75 for controlling an electric motor 18 so as to output the auxiliary driving force in proportion to the open degree of a throttle means in the condition that a rotating speed ratio of a crank shaft 10 and a driving wheel exists within the predetermined tolerance in relation to a change gear ratio of a pedal operating force transmitting system G and that the pedal operating force detecting means is intermittently turned on with the predetermined interval on the basis of the input from a crank shaft rotating speed detecting means 73, a driving wheel rotating speed detecting means, a throttle open degree detecting means and a pedal operating force detecting means 47.
