PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, though some requirements in quality, e.g. improvement of foam quality, can be attained by adding a specific acting material, a compensation must be paid for the reduction of other requirements in quality, e.g. reduction of hair dressing properties, and provide a hair treating aerosol foam by improving quality of the foam of the hair treating aerosol foam without spoiling hair dressing properties, rather improving them in the same way. SOLUTION: This aerosol foam for treating hair contains at least one species of cationic, amphoteric or mixed ionic polymers, at least one species of surfactants, at least one species of antifoaming agent, a water-based or a water- and alcohol-based solvent system and at least one species of aerosol propellants. As the antifoaming agent, a silicone antifoaming emulsion containing an active component free from biological actions and containing polydimethylsiloxane/ silica as main ingredients is preferable.
