PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by dispensing with filling, earth retaining works, and erection of a frame and form a dwelling space with variety, an attractive external appearance, and a vertically stretching sense effectively using the shape of a site in a dwelling house constructed in the site lower than a road surface. SOLUTION: This house comprises a one-story part 3 facing the road 1 and a two-story part 4 provided in the depth of the one-story part 3, the foundation 5 of the one-story part 3 is uplighted to the height of the road 1, and an underfloor storage 18 is provided inside the foundation 5. The upper part of the two-story part 4 is covered with a flat roof 8, and the upper part of the one- story part 3 is covered with a gable roof 7 having a large roof 7b with its upper part laid with a fall toward the road 1 side and a small roof 7c laid lap with the flat roof 8.
