PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed ring of a flexible joint for connecting a pipe of a manhole, excellent in workability and capable of being flexibly adapted to variations in the size and shape of a through hole in order to perform secure sealing. SOLUTION: The fixed ring of the flexible joint 8 for connecting the pipe of the manhole is fixed in such a manner that its diameter is enlarged along the inner surface of the periphery of the joint 8 whose part is inserted into the through hole 62 formed in the peripheral wall 61 of the manhole, and provided with a circular cornice plate 1, a pair of holding plates 2 and a connecting member 3. The plate 1 having an opening 12 at the central part is formed with zigzag rise and fall in its peripheral direction. The plates 2 are made to abut on both external surfaces of the plates 1 lapped through the medium of one of the plates 1 or a spacer 5 with a central opening 22 aligned with the opening 12 for the purpose of sandwiching the lapped plates 1 in between. The connecting member 3 penetrates the plates 1, 2 so as to make them integral with each other. The interval between the plates 2 is narrowed by the connecting member 3 for the angle of the zigzag shape of the plate 1 to be made open.
