PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-in-oil emulsion type emulsion explosive which has sufficient explosive power, is safe without the danger of spontaneous ignition, etc., during storage and is excellent in long-term preservation stability. SOLUTION: An aqueous oxidizing agent solution of the water-in-oil emulsion type emulsion explosive containing a dispersion phase consisting of the aqueous oxidizing agent solution consisting of ammonium nitrate as a chief agent, a continuous phase consisting of a surfactant and non-water-soluble oils, very small hollow bodies and an exothermic agent is an aqueous solution containing perchlorates of 3 to 20 mass % of the total amount of the explosive and the exothermic agent consists of silicon of purity >=90% and metals having a tendency to ionization equal to or lower than that of magnesium as impurities.
