PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic elevator capable of increasing the push-up force of a car by converting the pressure of an air bag effectively into push-up force. SOLUTION: In a pneumatic elevator provided with an air bag 2 arranged so as to be expanded vertically, the car 3 placed on the air bag 2 and an air supply means for raising and lowering the car 3 by supplying air to and exhausting air from the air bag 2, the bottom face 3a of the car 3 is made flat to contact the top face 2b of the air bag 2 with the bottom face 3a of the car 3 closely.
