PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic attraction type levitating body with less leak of a field and energy consumption, and of such a simple constitution that a control system for positions of a magnetic body or coil, or magnetic force need not be provided on the rail side, which is applicable to various applications as a vehicle, for carrying a load, for display, or as toys. SOLUTION: In this levitating body, attractive force to a permanent magnet into between parallel ferromagnetic bodies such as iron plates is utilized, so by applying a load on the permanent magnet, the attractive force operates to pull the magnet up when it is protruded out of a lower end of the iron plates, it stably levitates at a position where the attractive force is balanced with the load, and it becomes movable lengthwise between the iron plates with only a little traveling resistance in the corresponding direction between the iron plates.
