PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically interrupt the actuation of the rear wiper of a back door by means of a simple arrangement as the back door opens. SOLUTION: A courtesy switch 7 for opening and closing the rear of an automobile and for lighting a courtesy lamp 8 illuminating the interior of the automobile when the back door 1 is open is attached to the back door 1. The rear wiper 3 is driven by a wiper motor 4 actuated by motor control means 10 and 11 responding to a wiper signal produced by an operation at the driver's seat, so that the rear wiper wipes a rear window 2 and stops in a certain position. A wiper operation interruption means 12 for stopping the rear wiper 3 in the certain position in response to a signal produced by the courtesy switch 7 indicating the opening of the back door 1 is attached to the motor control means 10 and 11.
