PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple versatile type abnormal condition diagnostic device allowing diagnosis of an abnormal condition of a mechanical structure such as a large rotating machine online. SOLUTION: This abnormal condition diagnostic device, in which a vibration detection part and a vibration meter main body are connected together by means of an intermediate connection member, for a large rotating machine, is provided with the vibration detection part 1 having a clamping mechanism attracted to a measured body surface 8 by means of a magnet 8 and brought into contact with the measured face so as to stably clamp it, oscillating mechanism 4 holding the vibration detection part freely rotationally, a listening rod type position adjusting rod 5 having an oscillating type vibration detection part at the tip and feely extending/shrinking its length adjustably, and a monitor apparatus 6 connected to the vibration detection part by means of the intermediate connection member 7 inserted through the position adjusting rod and diagnosing an abnormal condition for displaying it.
