PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment ink cartridge in which visually sensible color difference does not appear even after a long term use. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge comprises a porous material 1 for absorbing pigment ink contained in a ink cartridge case 2 having an open upper part and a bottom part provided with an ink supply passage forming an ink chamber 5 for holding ink taken out from the porous material 1 sealed hermetically with a blank plug 6 made of an elastic member of rubber, for example, under a state where the compression rate is increased gradually downward but substantially constant in the horizontal direction. A cover 3 having a hole 4 for communication with the atmosphere is applied to the upper part of the ink cartridge case 2. |
