PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous material coater capable of stably applying a viscous material by always preventing the contact of the viscous material with air, free from the swelling out of the viscous material in the operation and capable of controlling the discharge pressure with high precision to attain high coating quality. SOLUTION: In the viscous material coater for applying the viscous material 4 on a material to be coated by using a coating unit 3 having a storage chamber 3a for the viscous material 4 and provided with a discharge port 8 for the viscous material 4 to be communicated with the storage chamber 3a and allowing the discharge port 8 of the coating unit 3 to contact with the screen mask to relatively move the coating unit 3 on the screen mask, an air vent sheet 11 for discharging air sealed in the chamber 3a at the supply of the viscous material 4 into the chamber 3a is provided to eliminate the remaining of the air in the chamber 3a to enable the control of the discharge pressure with high accuracy.
